Canada and American DAT?

I am a Canadian citizen and I hope to write the Canadian DAT on November 1st. I have done my research on many schools that I hope to apply to in my area (about 6-10) and all of them (including the American schools) will accept Canadian DAT scores. However, a lot of my friends are telling me to write both exams since I want to go to Canada and the US. Personally, I don't see the logic behind this since the Canadian DAT will pretty much get you in anywhere in the US (except a few schools). Also, the American has Orgo and Math while the Canadian DAT doesn't which is sort of helpful, since I don't have to study those and will be able to focus on the other subjects. The only downfall being Nov. 1st is the time we postsecondary students usually have our second round of midterms.

Do you guys have any advice/recommendations based on previous experience?

I'm also Canadian and Arabic (im guessing from your name 🙂).... Im taking the American Dat this August. It is true what you are saying, however im taking it so that I can apply this cycle. If I waited for the Canadian one I think I'd have no chance at American schools for the upcoming year. If I do bad on it, I can look at the positives and think that I have a head start and already know what I'd need to work on for the Canadian one etc... Thats my perspective though... I'd also think the American schools would favorably look at the American Dat over the Canadian one.
