So I asked a bunch of schools I will be applying to if they favor either Canadian or US DATs. They all said no. But NYU said something that made me raise an eyebrow.

They "convert" CDAT scores to ADAT scores. What do they mean by convert? Do they bell it according to ADAT distribution or something? (which means my scores can go up or down potentially...) Or will my CDAT numbers translate over as is to ADAT numbers?

TY🙂

Only reason I am asking is because it seems unlikely that they would change the official scores after they've already gone through the belling process from the raw scores. :/

They might standardize them by matching percentiles for that year?

Hypothetical numbers:
87%ile on cDAT AA = 19
87th %ile on aDAT AA = 21

So your NYU DAT score would be a 21

Just a hunch, if they actually do "convert".

If you are worried about straining your eyebrows, you could take the A-DAT and not have to worry about any "belling".
