I am software engineer and I current have a 3.2 in my third year. I am writing my MCAT soon. I was wondering if GRE scores will help me. I was reading the description for the gre and it said it was people looking to supplement their undergrad scors for any grad or professional school. I am trying to aim for UWO which takes by best two years (3.7 + 3.6) GPA. will a gre help? I am on an internship right now so I have some time for the next 14 months.

I think that there is a place to put GRE scores on the AMCAS but I don't think that schools really care all that much. Certainly you still need to do well on the MCAT.

GRE will not help.

Your GPA unfortunately is well below the cutoffs for most Ontario schools.

Consider DO in the US, or allopathic if you ace the MCATS.

my gpa is below cut off even for schools that only take my best two years? 3.7 and 3.6 is below cut off?

 They are looking for people who believe that hype so they can charge you $$$ to take the exam.

I would doubt that it would help. Most adcom members would have no clue how to interprete the score. The MCAT is the test. No other test matters.

oh ... I am definitely writing the MCAT. I was just wonder if showing good GRE scores will help.

I took the GRE when I was applying to grad school and I'll probably list it on my application-- if you do well it certainly won't hurt your application. I think Lizzy is right that most adcoms won't know what to make of your 680 in Math, but maybe one or two people reading your application do.

It might be helpful in that the verbal section of the GRE is similar to the verbal section of the MCAT, so some of the study and practice you would do for the GRE would probably transfer to the MCAT. But unless you're considering engineering grad school, the time you'd sink into preparing for and taking the GRE could probably be better spent prepping for the MCAT, working at your internship, or taking a mental health day.

Since my grades sux0r right now. How big of a difference will, say a 4.0 in 4th year make? Or is it too late?
