Hey!!
I was wondering if any Canadian students would be able to share any information on how they plan on funding optometry school. I have went to a couple banks and they have given me a max quote of 80k at 20k/year. This obviously isnt nearly enough for the entire 4 years so what do I do for the rest of the amount? Does anyone have any ideas or are using a different method...other than having to put my house up as collatoral?? any information will help

Thanks in advance!

Well OSAP will give you some as well. But doesn't RBC give out 150,000 ? Many med school students get a line of credit like that.

thanks for the reply,
as for the 150K most banks will only loan that much for dentistry or medical school...the amount is much lower for optometry and pharmacy. And from the research i've done on OSAP they will do about 5000/year. Are there any other ideas for the other ~125k?

Check out National Bank 🙂

I believe it's Prime Rate + 0% (best deal out there) and they give you 120k

I guess my concern is that the 120k will pay for the first two years but how do i finance the other 2? Im afraid that after the first two years I wont be able to get another loan from the bank for the rest of the tuition and ill just be stuck with 120k debt for nothing....any suggestions?
