Canadian Student @ US ugrad - advice?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Can’t really help without an mcat, a 500 vs510vs528 completely changes the advice you’ll receive.

If your mcat is on par with your current gpa then You can probably apply DO but bear in mind a downward trend looks terrible because if indicates you couldn’t excel in upper level undergrad courses, which obviously doesn’t bode well for how you’ll perform in med school. Some form of post bac would drastically improve your odds if you were to kill it

Thank you!
Yeah, I completely get that. I was able to take upper level science courses my first term and got A's in orgo and bio and then B's in my other science courses in my later terms (in physics/biochem/etc.). So I do have a definite downward trend, do you think if I can cap off my next three semesters with improvement - and with a decent MCAT + possibly post bacc/SMP that could put me in a spot to apply MD? I know it's a lot of hypotheticals, sorry!
Bear in mind Idk anything about Canadian applicants so I can only give you advice as if you were American. From what I‘be heard from others on here, 3 consecutive semesters of sustained academic excellence is usually good enough to prove your abilities. If you’re able to do that you might be able to forgo the formal masters and maybe just throw on a 1 semester diy postbac just for good measure.

Once again idk what standards Canadian applicants are held to but I believe the median mcat of md matriculants is a 511 so shoot for that
