Hi -

I was just wondering, is there anything Canadian students have to do prior to starting school in the US? (getting a student visa) I want to make sure I get everything ready this summer before I leave for school in the states!

Thanks!

where do you go to apply for a visa?

For Canadian citizens, United States Immigration and Naturalization Service, either at one of the major airports in Canada before boarding your flight, or at a land crossing as you enter the US. There is of course documentation that must be completed and submitted prior to applying for the visa.

Nationals of other countries will have to apply at a consulate or embassy in their home country.

Gotta shave your beaver!:meanie:

That's absolutly untrue. You can style your beaver any way you want! I think it goes somewhere in the first amendment...em...freedom of speech er ...of expresion.

Do schools not help you apply for visa's? For some reason I was under the impression they sent you the documents... lol, well thats another thing to add on the to-do list.

Don't worry they'll help you. Well PCO did, they sent me everything, I just mailed some stuff back, filled out this US thingie online and paid for it, and than US government mailed me something as well. Its easy.
