Hey guys,

Can a Canadian trained specialist practice in the US? Thanks. Is there a process to go through? Thanks.

You need to look at the licensure rules of the state where you want to practice. You may need to take a dental licensure exam recognized by that state and possibly even a specialty exam of the state where you want to practice. You won't need to re-do any part of your dental training if you did your dental school in Canada and did a residency in an ADA recognized specialty training program. A few states like New York allow licensure by completion of an accredited residency program without having to take a licensure exam. I believe Canadian residencies would count for this as long as it was an ADA recognized specialties.
