Canadian applicants, are you sending your transcript to a third party service (such as world evaluation services) to have them convert to the american system? I have been getting mixed messages from aacomas, school representatives, and previous applicants. The Canadian curriculum (topic taught in courses) is very similar to the american, just the credit that differ some what.
Those applying from a Canadian university that gives either 3.0 (1 semester) and 6.0 credits (full year course), and has the lab component build into the course (ie., there is no separate entry for the lab on transcript), what did you do? I am applying from York U, and this is how the system works here. The max number of credits earned for a course is 6.0. For example, first year general biology (full year course from sept-april) and built in lab component only earns a credit of 6.0. I believe this is the equivalent to the 8 credit hours min required by american schools.
If anyone can please give me some insight or advise it would be greatly appreciated.
