I wanted to reschedule my DAT but missed the 2-business day deadline. If I call the testing center (exam is on the 1st) and cancel, I know I will not be refunded the test fee (I am ok with that since I don't feel ready).

1) Does this count as one testing score?
2) Does anyone know how long it will take the ADA to accept another registration form? I sent it in today and will be calling ADA on Monday morning, I just wanted to make sure they won't wait 90 days before reviewing it again?

Thanks all!!

If you are going to lose out $325 anyways, might as well take the test to see how you did. You know you are going to retake it, so this way you have a better gauge of your real DAT score (because practice tests are not that great at predicting)

And dental schools will notice that you persevered and retook and had improvements which is always good. They won't frown upon you retaking it usually. Just my two cents. 🙂

hmmm... never had this kind of situation before...
lets hope that they don't do the 90 day wait time on you but then again you didn't even take the exam?
hmmm.... i'm curious as well

Call them asap...

This might be too late for you but I ran into a similar situation where I missed my scheduled appointment. It does not count as a test score and you don't have to wait 90 days to reschedule. Officially I think they only process requests to take the exam on one day of the week, however, they processed my second request REALLY quickly, like I was supposed to take it on Thursday, contacted them on Friday and they responded with the email on Monday or Tuesday, so I was able to schedule my exam on the following Friday (read: only 8 days after I missed the exam).

It looks like this thread ended at the end of 2011 but for everyone else who is currently in the same situation i'll provide some information.

I just called ADA and asked what happens if I don't show up to the test that I had scheduled and the representative replied that the scores would not show up, I wouldn't have to wait 90 days to take another test (since I didn't take it,) but I would have to file another application and pay the ~$400 fee.

Hope this helps!
