I have received an acceptance to a school that I would really like attending. I also have two school interviews currently scheduled. However, they are too far for me to go to knowing I have been accepted somewhere more convenient. I want to cancel my interview dates however I am not sure what the proper etiquette is. Should I call admissions, e-mail admissions. I am not sure.

Thanks

This is how I would write in an e-mail:

Dear Admissions Staff/Committee,

I would like to officially inform you of my decision to the ‘admission-visit’ offer. In the past, I have received an estimated of about a dozen interviews. While there are some that is worthwhile of my time, and then there is one that isn’t.

After my sharp examination, I regret to inform you that you have NOT been selected as part of my Fall 2016 academic year. Thank you for considering me as an applicant, and best wishes for all of your future endeavors.

Each year, many students decide to transfer after their first year of dental/med/pharm..etc. school. I strongly encourage you to continue to accept transfer students in case I decide to give your school another chance.

Sincerely,

vanwinkle
