Canceling aways

If you apply to several aways and are accepted to multiple spots does it leave a bad taste in the programs mouth if you cancel the away after you have it scheduled? Anyone have any experience with this?

I cancelled an away rotation and later received an interview at the same place. I think if you let the program know as early as possible (so they can fill the spot) and are polite about it, they will not hold it against you.

i think more important that if you cancel is how you do it. do it early, graciously and not overly apologetically. doubt it will come back to haunt you.
