I posted in the DO forums but It also related to MD as well so I am posting here.

So basically I do not feel comfortable asking the school I am currently accepted to this question because then it would make it seem like I didnt want to go there. But, school "A" has accepted me, but I am holding out for school "B" which I am on the waitlist for. Student loans requests have to be completed by school "A" in June. Lets say I file those loan requests and school "B" takes me off the waitlist after. Is it easy to to cancel the request or have it moved to school "B"?

Edit: And to add onto my question, can the same thing be done with the pre-matriculation packet? It is not binding is it?

Recently read this by one of the reputable posters here on SDN - if you're talking about federal loans, you can apply/accept whatever you want as they won't be disbursed until you actually matriculate to whichever school you decide on. So, if you accept loans for school A, they won't be given to you until school A confirms you are attending which would never happen if you choose school B. At which point, school B would then disburse loans to you (which you would also apply for and accept).

As far as pre-matriculation materials, I'm pretty sure you can complete all of them and simply not attend. This is the reason some people are taken off the waitlist the week of orientation (I assume).

Anyone can feel free to correct me if I'm wrong/misunderstood.
