Waitlist A after starting elsewhere?

Hello! I currently hold an acceptance at a DO school that starts in July. However, I am on a waitlist for another MD school that I would prefer to attend that starts in August. As of now, I plan to attend the school I’ve been accepted at, but I would appreciate any advice on what to do if I were to get off the waitlist? Has anyone ever started at a school and then moved elsewhere, and how has this affected records etc for residency applications?

You will likely lose your tuition, but other than that, you are free depart for the MD school. Residency will not be affected. If anything, it will help you match better at the MD program. GL
