Hi guys & gals, I wanted to ask the advice of this forum and see what would be the best thing to do. I have an invitation for an interview from one Psy.D. program on a Saturday in February with a Friday reception. The thing is that another school which I am more interested has one on the same Friday, though the interviews are on different day. For the second school, I have not actually received an invitation for an interview Something important to note is that I'm a pretty observant Jew, and while I'm willing to go on an interview on the Sabbath, I am definitely not willing to take a plane on the Sabbath. The situation may not actually come up, but since I have five days from today to respond to the first program, I'm wondering if it would be ethical to say I'm going to be there and then cancel on the first program to interview with the second. I'm sure others have been in this dilemna before, so I would like to hear what they did and some advice

last year i received an interview from a psyd program and later received an invite from a program that i liked much better....I also realized I did not want a psyd anymore. I called the psyd program up and just politely explained that after further consideration, I thought that the program would not be a good match and that i would like to withdraw my application. I thanked them for the invite and their consideration. they were fine with it.
