Hi everyone!

Just curious how up to date the boards are with things like naming classification of Cancer? For example, there are new 2011 guidelines for lung cancer that changed the names of some cancers:

Bronchoalveolar Carinoma.....is now Adenocarinoma Lepidic Pattern.

Large Cell Carcinoma....is now Adenocarinoma Not Otherwise Specified.

Should I know the new classifications or the older one? Most of the review books still use the older classifications.

Thanks everyone!

that is an interesting point....from what ive heard it takes longer than a few years for those kinds of changes to be made on step but i could be wrong. as long as older terminology such as bronchioalveolar carcinoma continues to be printed in first aid, and other board review texts id say stick with them...
