Just wanted to vent...I think studentdoctor.net is great...but I get really irritated by people who post questions to complete strangers about which dental school they should attend. Just by doing so I think you answer one question....you have no backbone...and probably shouldn't be a graduate student to begin with. Thanks for reading

Take it easy bro. There is nothing wrong with asking a complete stranger about a school. It offers a different perspective, and might bring up some points that the person asking the question might find helpful.

It's obvious that the OP has no backbone, seeing as they had to create a whole new account to post this rant.

ok first of all, i think one of the best things you can do is ask other people their opinions of the schools. you're going to be spending the next FOUR YEARS of your life at the school you choose, so you'd better know what you're getting yourself into and other people's perspectives of the schools definitely can't hurt.

plus there were things i didn't know about schools, but i was able to ask about it on here.

there were some things about my undergrad that i didn't like and some things that i did. so there are things i know that i like and dislike about a school. it's nice to be able to get people's opinions on sdn because you don't feel comfortable (and it would be out of place) to ask some questions you want the answers to while you're at your interviews.

Nothing wrong with asking other peoples OPINIONS! There might be somethings other people know that you dont, so you want to get the whole story! by the way, I think SDN is like a family whose tryin to get through dental school together!

Nova vs. Mich. vs. NYU vs. BU vs. OHSU vs. OSU vs. UCSF vs. UCLA vs. USC vs. UoP? please help!?

If you don't like those questions, just simply don't open the thread and don't read them!

Seems like someone didn't get in dental school this cycle.

You get irritated? Who Cares!!!!!!!!

Noob, people are going to be spending 4 years at X institution. Every sentence of information from either family, friend, SDN members, dog is important. It isn't like which of the following shirts should I buy! Its gotta be the best choice you can make.

Sorry to the OP, no to steal your thread or anything, but I am having an ENORMOUS amount of trouble deciding between UCSF and UoP.
Please help me, I am confused.

EDIT: toofache beat me to it...

UCSF!!! That school gets 2 summers off!!! 4 months each!!!! I don't know ANY OTHER SCHOOLS that offer summer breaks!!!! UCSF!!!!!! Besides, it's REALLY hard to get in. If you got in, go there!!

Kind of a ridiculous statement to make, and immature. Relax. If a person is trying to optimize the decision making process by getting feedback from others who may have different perspectives, how does that equate to their having no backbone? Are we required to make the decision entirely independently and without counsel in order to be "courageous?" Chill out
