Anyone at CAP can report back to us about the following talk Tuesday morning:

The Future Pathologist Workforce: Training, Employment, and Impact on the Specialty
9:30 AM – 10:30 AM

W. Stephen Black-Schaffer, MD, FCAP
Michael Cohen, MD, FCAP
David Gross, PhD

Course Code: M1912N
Credit Type: 0.00 CME Credits
This session characterizes the current and future pathologist workforce. The faculty will discuss how five years of survey data from new-in-practice pathologists and employers are informing change in pathology training. They will present the status of the pathology job market, including types of practices that are hiring, skills they are seeking, and success in filling positions. Differences between new-in-practice pathologists and their later-in-practice peers in demographics, where they work, and the issues that are most important to them will also be highlighted.
