Currently deciding between doing micro or hand after plastics.

Anyone out there know if there are plans for a CAQ in Micro in the near future? I saw an article in (not surprisingly) the journal of reconstructive microsurgery suggesting that one be created. So at the least, people are talking about it.

I like both equally as much at this point, but I'm running out of years I can stomach training. I'm leaning towards doing a hand fellowship bc I can get a CAQ and still practice micro if so inclined. The reverse seems more difficult to do.

Any advice out there?

Never going to happen with a CAQ for microsurgery as it's part of the core curriculum of reconstructive surgery, both orthopedics and plastic surgery boards would fight that tooth and nail. The CAQ in hand is already a regrettable clusterf**k in the effect it had on community practice. It pretty much hastened the death of hand surgery in plastic surgery in any meaningful way
