I have a question about the Superior Vena Cava. I understand that the heart and lungs are connected to the small intestine and stomach through the different ligaments and arteries, namely the Ligamentum Arteriosum and Ligamentum Flavam, but I'm very confused on how this has anything to do with congenital diseases, specifically birth defects and retroviruses. We have an exam coming up soon and I really need to clear this up. Thanks.

There are plenty of other written and online resources available that will be better able to explain things to the OP.
