Cardiology Elective

Hey all, future EM guy wondering if there are any good cardiology books that you can recommend. I have a cardiology elective starting next week.

Hi there,

My favorite first-rotation cards book is "Clinical Cardiology Made Ridiculously Simple". Despite the name, it is incredibly complete, very readable, and much less "ridiculous" than the micro text alot of us have used from the series. It should have most of what you need to know for a first rotation in cardiology in it.

A book by Lilly (I think it's called pathophysiology of heart disease)
And of course, Dubin's ECG book

EJ Topol's Manual of Cardiovascular Medicine is an outstanding clinical reference. You can use it for specific consults, or read it cover-to-cover - it's not that long. Since you're not going into cardiology or IM, you might not want to drop the cash on it quite yet, but you can at least check it out from the library and keep it in your pocket for the month.
