cards at a community program

hello everyone! i've been reading some of the application threads and have only seen big university programs listed. so, my question is, how are the smaller community programs in ny or nj? are they just as hard to get into as compared to university programs? i am at a univ. affiliated program and intend to go into private practice when i finish residency/fellowship, so i really am not looking for a high powered academic cards program.
