I graduated with a bachelor's degree in veterinary science from India in 2017. Now I'm looking to pursue a career as a Veterinary Pathologist. But I'm not sure of the path(s) I should be taking.

Am I supposed to be looking for a residency programme, or a research degree? Can they both lead to the same endgoal?
All help is appreciated. Just a little confused right now.

Hi Jay

If you want to be a board-certified veterinary pathologist, you should be looking at residency program. In what region are you interested in studying, and what type of pathology (anatomic vs clinical)? If you are considering coming to the States or Europe, I would begin by looking at the American College of Veterinary Pathologists website as well as the European College of Veterinary Pathologists website.

www.ecvpath.org

Both can give you an idea about available programs. A large number of these residency programs are also combined programs that incorporate a PhD, just FYI. I am not sure if you would need to do get ECFVG certification to apply....that might be something to ask individual programs.
