what do u think of the following: go to usuhs and complete minimal military obligation-7years (no residency, get to travel the world). save up enough cash to start an ebay business. move to a country of your choice and work from there. so the extent of work would be equivalent to typing messages on sdn. no goal to become rich, but enough to live comfortably, no?

Why not.

as far as i know usuhs graduates have to do a residency. sorry to spoil such a sweet and beautiful dream.

Most ebay businesses are sinkholes of cash that produce little results, even if you're living on the cheap. ebay businesses are becoming what flipping realestate was in the 80s/90s.

fixed for you. but who really wants to be a GMO for 7 years?

i don't know. i think it would certainly be fun to do some kind of gmo tour (perhaps dmo) for 4 years. the difficulty might arise if i then decided to go into a residency or to start a new career. 7 years is a more extreme version. but if after completing internship i decide that i want to spend the next 30yrs in medicine, i might only do 2-3years of gmo and then do a residency.

i dont know about that. i havent used it for several years (too busy at school). but as far as i remember you could get really good deals whether buying or selling. i mean you could use it just like a retail store but with smaller profits and smaller operational costs. and im pretty sure you can still make money in real estate except that the minimal investment is huge (can't buy 1/100th of a house) and it takes a long time to buy/sell a house. but i think if you're rich, it's always a good idea (much better than ebay).
