Career switch: from indie RXM to institution, big box. What would you do?

May be not a popular opinion and people tend to go the opposite way. I have been a RXM at an independent for about 5 yrs now (‘17 grad) and we’veen quite OK. Still surviving and weathering the DIR storms.

I wanna venture into a different world now, with better pay and benefits. At an indie you can only make so much if you’re not profit sharing…what career path would you pick?

I see so many positions open at hospitals, sam’s club etc with similar pay…but I don’t wanna switch and regret later..

Find a government/non-profit union job. It will help you with student loan, and they usually pay & provide better benefits than the average.

Why don’t you locum tenens (moonlight) in a variety of positions, then naturally work your way in?
