If it was one of the better Caribbean schools (SGU) I would go there in a second over a DO school (in fact, I'd probably go to law school over either). SGU is more competitive than most DO schools and has excellent residency placement. On an interesting note, some of the Caribbean schools are owned by the same people as the for-profit DO schools. They basically are in the same business.
not really. First of all, law schools are probably the worst possible option for anyone, considering the terrible job market that exists. Unless you like temp jobs of course.
And SGU hardly has 'excellent residency placement.' Something liek 60-70% of their day one class matches within 4 years, primarily in malignant primary care spots. So when you read things like 90% Step I pass rate or 90% match rate, remember this is really like 90% of 65%. Any DO school (heck, probably even RVU when it graduates its first class) boasts a more impressive match if you consider attrition and the starting class size.

There's no way that I would go to a Caribbean school over a DO school. The fail out rate is enormous, the students are generally ****ty, and the post-graduation opportunities are very few.
