Do you think we will ever be considered equals after we graduate and get a residency?

If you get a residency.... maybe
I need to consult the Parkland formula after that one.
On SDN: Never. Ever.
In the Ivory Towers: Likely not.
In the real world: Yes.
If a carib student gets a better residency than an AMG, can the carib student mock the AMG or are they still superior?
FYI, my cousin went to a lower tier Carib school and is now an Anesthesiology resident. My best friend went to UMDNJ, and is in Family Practice. Hmmmm, who made out better in the end? # Money Bitches Power

What if the guy/girl from UMDNJ wanted to go into Family Practice, and enjoys it greatly and has an awesome/happy life? That doesn't mean he loses out at all. 😕
On the basis of your posting history so far, Noyoudinit, I suspect you won't help the reputation of Caribbean grads much.
Caribbean med schools get so much flak from med forums. I'm currently in MD1 at a low-tiered medical school (not a big 4), and many of the students who have graduated from the school are doing just as well as their Canadian or American school graduate counterparts. So from the cool reception from almost every forum I've been on, no we are not treated as equals during our basic science years. But after we graduate and prove ourselves to be just as competent in the clinical setting, then maybe yes...
I bet your one anecdote completely refutes the thousands of examples that go in the exact opposite direction...
Once you and an AMG are at the same point in Residency, as long as you are equally competent, I can't see why it should matter whether you were an AMG or IMG. When I get into residency, I won't care if my co-workers are IMGs, unless they are incompetent.
This is sdn, the AMG nirvana. Crawl back to ValueMD, IMGs!

I don't get why the Carib student would want to mock an AMG anyway and vice versa. It's not like AMGs sit around drinking beer and talking about how Caribbean students are lame.
