Is anyone familiar with the Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital residency?

I met one of the attendings at a conference, and he had positive things to say about the hospital system and the director. It's a new program so this year will be the first year for taking residents, but it sounds like it will be a decent program, just from what the attending was saying. Sorry I don't have any real specific info.

Thanks so much - What did he say about the program/hospital? Is the program well-rounded?

I don't know how involved this doctor was in setting the program up, so I don't have much, but he did say that the hospital was a big hospital, level-1 trauma center. It is a teaching hospital and there are several other residencies. The doc said that the director either has a good relationship with ortho, or is part of the ortho group, I can't remember which. He said the director was a fairly young doctor who got good training in residency and is pretty solid. It sounds like a well rounded place, but then again, until the first group gets there, it's anyones guess. There is an affiliation with the VA it appears, so you will get that demographic, plus the demographic of the main hospital.
