bumping
I read some wicked reviews on scutwork - hoping that since they're older they might be out of date? Anyone interview or have recent clerkship experience here?

I interviewed at Carolinas...I also read the reviews on Scutwork before I went...I have a feeling those reviews are either out-dated or written by a disgruntled medical student who was not having a good time on their externship. I thought the program was great. All of the residents were very nice and all got along very well. The hospital is beautiful and loaded with $. Each new intern gets their own PDA. Charlotte is a great and very affordable place to live and the hospital is actually in a very nice part of town...there were million dollar homes literally across the street. There seems to be good training although their numbers are not as high as other programs I have visited. There is good organization and support staff for research projects which are expected. I will definitely be ranking this program. However, I felt that the training was geared more towards residents who plan on going into general ob/gyn. Even one of the residents told me that it would be difficult to match into Gyn Onc and REI from that program (this was before I told him I was interested in Gyn Onc) which will probably get them a lesser rank on my list than would have otherwise.

Let me know if you have any other questions

I did not apply there, but I heard after the fact that it's a highly regarded community program.

To answer your question...I am not sure. I dont recall any of the current residents being FMGs, but I may be mistaken. They certainly didnt mention anything about not accepting foreign medical grads at the interview, but none of the interviewees that were there with me were FMGs so the question never really came up.

I interviewed there too, and I don't remember anyone being an FMG, but that doesn't mean that they don't take FMGs.
