Most of the movement will take place after the April 15 commitment date. I know it's hard to wait, but hang in there.Has there been any movement from the post-interview HOLD list?

The photo looks like my lab puppy that I got when I was nine years old. She died on February 14 last year, I was with her, broke my heart, my heart is still broken, a great girl, a great yellow lab girl.

I thought the commitment date is May 15th??
I thought the commitment date is May 15th??
And Case's deadline is May 1st, not May 15th. However, someone mentioned that they are sometimes willing to extend to the 15th if you contact them and ask. Both Case and CCLCM start in July, I believe.
CCLCM's earlier because they start in July. I think there's some rule that if you start in July, you can make your commitment date earlier.
Iceman, did you send a letter of intent before getting off the hold?
awww i volunteer with an organization that rescues and adopts labs - its the most fun you can have at 10am on a Saturday morning.. They are all so sweet. You walk in and there are 20 giant happy dogs that want nothing more in the world than for you to pet them.. 🙂 I've wanted a lab forever and am getting a puppy before med school.
But to add to the actual topic of conversation.. I have been on hold with CCLCM since Dec 23 (Merry Christmas to me!), interviewed Dec 7, sent in a letter of update the first week of January, and am still on hold.. I wasnt expecting to hear anything until April 15..
I'm not totally clear on the details of how this is done. But my understanding is that they have a system to rank each interviewee, and as spots open up, they will contact the people with the highest rankings until the class is finalized. When I asked her about what people could do to improve their chances a while ago, Dean Franco told me that writing a letter of intent isn't necessary. But she did say that you should send updates (new ECs, awards, publications, grades, etc.) for your file if you have them. So presumably updates can help you, and if you have anything like that to send to them, I'd go ahead and send it as soon as you can.CCLCMer, do you know how they go about rereviewing the hold list? When would be a good idea to send them an update letter/LOI?
Thanks.
Don't feel too concerned if you don't hear something exactly on April 15, because the admissions people will need some turnaround time before they start contacting people, and they will also have to contact some of the accepted people who didn't get back to them yet to find out their plans. I think that last year most people who came off hold heard during the last two weeks of April, not right on April 15. Good luck! But to add to the actual topic of conversation.. Right. We start orientation right after July 4, so our commitment date is a month earlier than most other schools. The UP also starts in early July, so they have an earlier commitment date too like lilold3chordme said.CCLCM's earlier because they start in July.
