CASE "Hold" letter!

hello-

I just got a letter from Case saying my status is place in "Hold"
untill they receive my scores of a re-take on the DAT.
They will give further consideration to my application after
they review the score.

I think I should cut case off my list cos I don't think I have
enough courage to retake DAT again..

Has anyone got the same letter?

I think I didnot apply early enough for Case.
Maybe because of 15 in RC? Oh well..

I'm sorry to tell you this but if you got a "hold" letter from "just in Case Western" your odds of getting in are pretty bad. better luck next year.

a 15 in RC will get you a hold from most schools nowadays. Even when you hide behind your sig of 23/21/20

My thoughts,

You applied late, Case isn't "Just in Case" anymore. It is one of the most competitive schools you will ever see!

Everyone disses case these days becuase they can't get an interview!

It's too bad. You have a decent GPA and above average DAT scores. The DAT has many sections and you could easily mess up one section. I think you still have a good chance to get into a dental school with your stats

As for retaking your DATs, If I were you, I would prob contact schools and find out how your reading comprehension would affect your dental application and try to determine whether to retake the DATs

I'm sorry but that was a pretty mean thing to say and you obviously do not know what dental schools look for in an applicant. Posing as a fact that her odds of getting in is pretty bad is I think inappropriate.

Just because you declined doesn't mean it is a bad school.

I thought my scores are way above average..
But honestly when I got this letter today, I thought its a rejection letter
because some people with similar scores as mine have received rejection letters.
I am not gonna retake it for time being. I seriously dont have time to study more and I dont think my RC score would improve much in a short term since English is not my first language. But I really appreciate your advice!🙂

I love Tokyo, too! Actually I am thinking about practicing there IF

I don't know about the other schools, but Case do weigh RC pretty highly. Maybe even more so now that they have switched to Problem based learning.
