I am very worried right now because I just scheduled my interview with Case, and that lady said the earliest is Dec 8th? Does that mean my chance of getting in just dropped 70%! it is still a primary not alternate list interview, but still...what is my chance of getting in. Can anyone tell me how Case admission works? 😱

Start calling and ask if there are any cancelled interviews. Call, and just keep calling. Do everything possible to get an earlier date. IMO.

thanks guys, I will keep calling them ... hope that they won't reject me because they think I am too annoying.

its ok..i think your still in good shape. CASE accepts a lot of students, and especially from the first wave, many students will decline to attend CASE. In fact i know many classmates that interview in april and still got into the class.

i know boston doesnt even start looking at apps until sept 15th

teethpulla, (or anyone else that may know)

What do u think Case would consider the "first wave" of applicants?? I submitted my AADSAS June 14th (printout mailed Aug.4) but just got the interview invite yesterday. I called and the first available date was January 4th, so needless to say, I'm a bit worried about the interview being too late in the cycle.

have any of you tried to call them back to see if someone has cancelled their interview so u can interview earlier? any success?

actually, i just called to schedule my interview today, and the first available date was Jan.4. I most definitely will call back from time to time to see if anyone has cancelled. However, I was wondering if I end up stuck with Jan. 4, if that is too late in the cycle and will hurt my chances (although i guess theres really nothing i can do about it if thats the way it turns out.)

Im just worried that since my interview is after Dec.1, that most of the class will be filled by the time I interview.

I got Jan 4th also. They sure are asking for alot of interviews if they are already booked for four months. It doesn't make sense. They interview on Mon, Wed, Thur, and Fri, so all of those days for all of those weeks are already booked?!? That is a lot of applicants that are getting interviews.

thats what i was wondering..it looks like they sent out a ton of interviews. does anyone know approx what the % is of getting accepted in december/january after an interview? (providing it goes well of course..)

if you guys got interviews in early january, i wouldnt worry all that much. Case generally likes to interview students really early, bc the weather here gets really bad, so its wise to get them going when the weather is still nice. the chances of getting into CASE is pretty high, once you have the opportunity to schedule an interview, granted it is the highest percentage of an acceptance prior to december. but for those that are in january, i'd say your chances are dayam good. Case is a good school, but due to the price tag that comes along with it, many, MANY students will turn it down, and go to another dental school. so dont worry. and from a poll of the students here in my class, a lot got into the class post december 1st, some as late as even may. and one more note, if you are from idaho, or utah and attended BYU your chances of getting in is great, i concluded that since half my class or almost half is from that region.

Jan 4th isn't that bad, compared to mine. I just called today and was told the first available date is Jan. 18th 😱 I scheduled mine on Jan. 20th 🙁 That's so late 🙁 My application was mailed out on July 22. It wasn't that late.

Here is a question, Do they look at the second wave of applicants (like myself) more cruelly? What I am trying to say that is that as they give more interviews do they get more stringent on the stats they give interviews to? It makes sense to me if they do that but I want to hear the more expert inputs!

Just want to let people know that I personally was interviewed by Case on Dec 15 and I got the acceptance letter in a few days, also, another first year have also gotten into Case who interviewed on the same day a year later....in conclusion, your still have a good chance of getting in even if you have an interview after Dec 1. However, Case do normally starts their interview for the alternate list in mid-late February, just so you know.

The earliest date they had open was mid-Febuary!
