Hi.

I'm interested in writing a radiology case report.

Is hepatic abscess secondary to diverticulitis not rare enough for case report status? I've read that there is a 10/100,000 incidence of hepatic abscess(pretty rare) in the USA with the great majority being due to biliary disease.

What's a good journal to have case reports published in? I know that many of the major ones like "Radiology" don't publish case reports.

If I were you, I would do a literature search, or search within various journals for your topic. Its not necessarily how rare a disease may be (although that helps). but rather how it might have been diagnosed-CT, US, etc etc. If previous case reports diagnosed an hepatic abscess via CT, and you did it via US (as an example) then thats your schtick. So, even if its been done, find something novel about your particular case and run with it.
