Already got rejected, same as last year..wth, academically speaking, my stats are not worthy of an immediate rejection. I dont get it.

Question: Have you even taken your DATs, or did they just reject you off the bat with out them? Is that even allowed?

3.4 and aa/ts/pa 20/21/18....oh and i guess they did send me a brochure about their program last week. The letter that came along with it said all they needed was my app. fee to complete my app. As soon as they got my app. fee they rejected me. The funny part is they received the check but havnt cashed it yet...yeah, i went ahead and cancelled payment on that check...they should have waited to reject me until after they cashed my check.

This is really surprising. Your stats are quite decent and should warrant serious consideration at many places. I wonder what criteria Case operates under.

What was your science GPA and cum GPA?

yeah that happened to me last cycle with nova. and happened to a friend of mine that is a third year at UAB at nova as well. don't worry about it just push forward. that stuff happens and no one can tell you why.

Holy cow, you've gotta be the first rejection of the new cycle. That sucks, man. At least you were able to cancel your check. You've got great stats and will definitely get love from many other schools.

i emailed them and they quoted my science gpa and bcp as too low...they are both around 3.2 ish i believe. They also said my pat and qr were too low. I got a 17 on the QR section. another one bites the dust.

Don't worry about it. You will get in somewhere this year. Isn't there something that prevents acceptances and rejections from coming out before December 1st? What if you wanted to re-take the DAT and raise your QR, they won't even consider that? So weird.

Just checked the mail and got a 'big' enevelope from Case. Its got the brochure and a letter saying that all they need is my LOR's which hopefully will get to AADSAS soon and hopefully this letter isnt followed by a letter of rejection heh.

Case focuses more on GPA (especially science GPA). I don't think the 17 on QR was the reason why. GL

No crap...I got a packet of info today too...I have yet to send them the money and I haven't taken the DAT yet...I wonder if they would reject me without DAT scores....I hate to send them money only to get the shaft....😕

Case is a great school whose admissions committee is on top of its game.. The problem is that soo many people want to go to Case. Last year they had approximately 3300 applicants for 70 spots. They arent going to give you the shaft they just need to filter people out... They WONT reject without DAT scores either they will only review once application is complete...

Hey thanks guys. If I "strike gold" this time around I will know that damn near anything is possible, and so will the rest of you. I'm studying for the DAT right now and it makes me want to off myself. I just hope updating my app. with a fresh DAT score is worth the investment....if its not, im in the hole another couple g's. I've been through this too many times and i'm too damn old and broke to do it again. This is my "final countdown". Good luck to you all. 😎

hey buddy, you have good enough stats. don't worry you'll get in somewhere. but the last thing you want to do is quit if you don't.

technically its not really quiting if u just cant afford to do it anymore, right? On a personal note, the guy I spoke with via email from case, dalsky i believe, was at least very polite and took the time to respond to my email...thats always nice. Prob. a great school, oh well.

You might want to think about adding a school to the list to make up for Case. Case rejects early and passes over pretty good candidates as a result. I made the same mistake of applying to Case both times I applied and wondered if I would ever get in anywhere both times. It's still too early in the application cycle to get down on the process. You could always call the places you're waitlisted at and let them know your packed and ready to relocate on a moment's notice. No notice is too short.
