Cashed check

Is it normal for a school to cash your check without giving any status updates as to whether they even received your app or not?! my application was submitted on 8/24 and USC cashed my check on friday without even sending me a note that they received it.

Is it normal for a school to cash your check without giving any status updates as to whether they even received your app or not?! my application was submitted on 8/24 and USC cashed my check on friday without even sending me a note that they received it.

I've had this happen with 2 schools... USC and Michigan. I wish they would give some sort of status update on my application. Oh well.
