Categorical vs. Advanced

If I'm an idiot and should have found this information on my own, please don't hesitate to verbally bash me...

Is there a list that details how many categorical vs. advanced spots each program has? Neither FREIDA nor the ACGME website seemed to have such information.

As far as I know, programs are either categorical OR advanced. That is, they aren't going to have some categorical and some advanced spots available in the match at the same time (as, for instance, many anesthesia programs do).

I don't that's the case for all programs. I think it was Beaumont that used to have one position with an internship included and one position without. Not sure if that's changed

Yeah, there are a handful of programs with one of each, e.g. Wisconsin. Most, however, are either categorical (Penn, Emory, Cleveland Clinic come to mind) or advanced (the vast majority).

Ahh, okay I didn't know about that, but I do know that Beaumont is all categorical now.

Indiana is another one that has one advanced and one categorical. I believe last year there were 22-ish categorical spots, and the rest advanced.

Rush (1 spot categorical; 1 spot advanced, I think?)

Some places are "advanced" but if you match, you are practically a shoe-in for a prelim spot. My impression is that Mayo, Yale are like this.
