Currently a D2 at a mid-tier, clinically heavy school. Is it normal to feel like I don't know anything/I'm not prepared? Been studying for the past 7-8 months using the gold standard methods (UFAPS) and am about to take the month in July. I've tried making lots of sacrifices studying for this exam (studying during breaks/not going out for almost a whole year) and feel like it's extremely hard to balance studying for this beast of an exam while trying to do well in my classes. My school's curriculum is built to make students be in lab for hours everyday on top of academic exams almost every week. I mean, it's not like I can forego school but I also know the CBSE requires lots of time and effort... Finding a balance seems to be almost impossible lol

sometimes, something has to give.

Its worth it to get a few Bs for a semester or two to get a high CBSE, because its way more important. You can be #1 class rank but if you dont have a good score it wont matter.

I would say keep doing what youre doing. You have to realize that many of the people posting high scores here (70+ EPC) are usually the top 10-15%. If you don’t score well first time around take it again in Feb. If you put consistent effort in CBSE you’ll get better results imo you just have to keep at it. I would not get in the habit of sacrificing school exams for CBSE.

You're right, it is a difficult exam and can make dental school a brutal experience. I spent 2+ years trying to get the score I needed, but I thank myself every day for not giving up. If you know for sure that you want to become an OMFS, then you just gotta keep going. The most efficient way to improve is to memorize Pathoma. You can use the Duke Pathoma deck to help with that.
