Generally Yes! CBSE is quite close to NBME, you will be able to predict.Do people generally score better than their practice test scores?
Do you know on average how much higher? Like should we expect 5% increase? I know it's different from person to person but just based on what you heard from people. Thank you and good luck everyone.Generally Yes! CBSE is quite close to NBME, you will be able to predict.
I wouldn’t count on a huge jump. I scored 1 point better than my highest practice test, which I took the week before the exam.Do you know on average how much higher? It was a fair bit higher than my average. But that doesn’t really matter since I was improving over time.
I would expect to be within a point or two of your most recent NBME practice exam.

I underestimated how much the 1st month on my non-cat yr would screw up my studying lol, does anyone know if there’s any questions thrown out/experimental?

I wish! Don't think anything is experimental. The exam is just messing up with time. It truly sucks at this point.I underestimated how much the 1st month on my non-cat yr would screw up my studying lol, does anyone know if there’s any questions thrown out/experimental?
Apparently they have curved it a 1-2% in the past but I wouldn’t count on thatI underestimated how much the 1st month on my non-cat yr would screw up my studying lol, does anyone know if there’s any questions thrown out/experimental?
It seemed quite harder than the one in February but maybe that’s just biased cause I seem to only remember hard things from it right now.
Likely not. When I took it in February, my correct/incorrect almost exactly summed up to my EPC. Technically, I had a -1 point curve lolI underestimated how much the 1st month on my non-cat yr would screw up my studying lol, does anyone know if there’s any questions thrown out/experimental?

What did you feel was missing? What were your resources for the preparation?Scored high 76+ on NBMEs 25-31 with a high of 80 and this CBSE felt the worst out of all of them by far lol...
NBMEs are very much predictable to the actual exam, can say this from my experience.

Felt exam was very extreme - meaning essy questions were hyper easy and difficult questions were insanely difficult with vague vignettes and multiple good sounding answer choices. Good luck to everyone hope it went well
Used the standard UFAP up until final month, where i started to crank out NBMEs more in exchange for some UW Qs. Would take a NBME one night (i.e. saturday), and would then review the whole thing the next day, going thru everything even if i got it right, and also making sure i felt like i knew why wrong choices were wrong...idk maybe im psyching myself out abt the test, but it truthfully felt tougher than NBMEs. I usually was able to tell if i was going on a streak of getting a lot of Qs correct on NBMEs, but didnt rly get the same feeling this time lol. Now we waitWhat did you feel was missing? Uninformed but my guess for average would be low 60s or high 50s
I don’t think sodo stats get released? like I wanna know average score lol
The last time AAOMS released the mean CBSE scores was Feb 2021 and the mean was a 60 old score (low 50s EPC).
That was in peak COVID era so I can’t imagine scores have gone up significantly from then.

What is the average CBSE score for 4 and 6 year matriculating OMFS residents?

congrats! Could you tell what was your NBME practice scores?Low 70s EPC which was a bit higher than my practice test scores. I used advice found from previous threads. With that said, I think persistence is the most important thing with this exam. I also recommend bootcamp over boards.

How was your practice score NBMEs ? Less of more compared to real exam73 EPC. feel free to DM me. not a stellar score my any means but happy to answer a few Qs if anyone has any. Hope everyone did well!
64-69 and I took three. They are the best predictor of what you will score. I’d say it’s good to do at least 2 from their website.congrats! Could you tell what was your NBME practice scores?
What EPC is considered a competitive score for 4 year and 6 year?
65 epc is a 71 so 65 epc? After talking to some PDs I heard 66 EPC or whatever 70 was for the old scores is solid for 6 years, idk for 4 years

Program at my school won’t even look at you unless you have a 70 old score (63 epc?) for both 6 and 4 year tracks.
