Guys,

Question for all of you: If you are registered as post-bacc in a 4 year university but you want to take a course (dental pre-req) at a local community college, do you NECESSARILY have to transfer the cc credits back to your home institution for the purpose of dental school applications??

Or can you simply leave the credits untransferred and just provide AADSAS with the transcripts from the cc.

Please clue me in if any of you guys know.
Thanks

You don't have to transfer them to the university that you are attending for AADSAS purposes. However, if you are taking that course and that course is a prerequisite for something else at the university, you have to transfer the course.

Thanks tinman.
Transferring is not important for AADSAS purposes, BUT what about the dental schools...do the dental schools care whether the credits were transferred to the applicants home institution or not?

I think I read on one of the dental schools wesbsites, that courses taken at cc's must be transferred or transferrable...something like that, but I am not sure exactly.

Any other ideas anyone??

i took a couple of courses at a CC, and none were ever transferred. both aadsas and dental schools don't care. transferring to your university is so they can give you credit towards your degree.

It looks like some universities care that your cc credits are transferable to a 4 year institution. U of Maryland dental schools specifically says this. Hmm..this may be a problem for me...so many complications..damn.
