Hi,

I am currently in the process of completing my application, and two of the schools on my list are Temple and Creighton. I just noticed that Temple apparently takes a maximum of 6 community college credit hours, and Creighton accepts no CC hours. I opted out of my first of two college English courses by taking dual-credit in high school. I also took both of my physics prereqs at a community college. I have my bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences, and I'm currently a masters student in Biomedical Sciences as well. So I've taken plenty of upper-level science courses since then. Do you think I will be alright in applying to these schools anyways? I plan on calling the admissions offices to ask, but I also wanted to hear if anyone had any experience with applying to these schools with CC credits.

Thanks.

Where did you see that Creighton does not accept CC hours? I am applying there and my composition courses are from a CC so I must have overlooked it.

Doc Toothache’s guide

"The required hours and subjects must be completed by the end of the spring term preceding the fall in which the applicant wishes to enter the School of Dentistry. Advanced Placement (AP) credit will not be accepted as a replacement for any semester hour requirements in biology, inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, English and physics"

This is from their website. I see that they do not accept AP for prereqs but nothing about CC. I am more than likely going to call at some point just to make sure though.

I can't speak for Temple, but I was accepted to Creighton last cycle and I took dual credit English in high school.

Let me know what they say please. I've seen in multiple places that they do not take CC credit.

Thanks for the info! That's very helpful.

I sent an email last week to verify whether they accepted CC credits. The reply I received from admissions was "The Admissions Committee does not want more than half of your prerequisites coming from a community college."
