:scared: Has anyone received any updates to their alternate list status for CCOM yet? I was put on the list in April, found out last week that my file was in the process of being re-reviewed..but haven't heard anything. Is there supposed to be significant movement after the 15/16th of May (when med schools give out final acceptances). Just wondering if any other CCOM alternates have been contacted as of yet.... thanks

I gave up my CCOM acceptance back in March. I don't know if this will go to someone on the alternates list, but at least you know they'll be some movement. Good luck!

I was waitlisted in March, and I haven't heard anything. I called the admissions office, but they won't say how many people are on the alternate list or anything helpful. It is so hard not knowing...
Noodles4life, how did you find how your file was being re-reviewed? That sounds like a good sign!

It's funny, I actually called their office on a whim to ask if they had received my recent fall transcripts - the woman who went to check out my file told me that she couldn't do check at that time, mainly because my entire file had been moved and was sitting in the director of admissions' office that she couldn't get into...I also thought that it may be a positive sign..but one week later...still nothing...I guess the waiting game continues! 😴

hang in there. there are probably a few other folks like myself that have CCOM spots, but will give them up if we get off the MD schools waitlists.

hi noodles,

i got off of the waitlist last week...try calling them or writing a letter to the admissions office updating your resume, etc. or letting them know that their school is your #1 choice and listing the reasons why, etc.

further, additional rec letters from people you work with/professors from school would also be helpful (though it may be hard to swing those on such short notice). good luck to you!
🙂

Hi la volpe,

Congrats on being accepted! When did you interview and how were you notified?

Thanks

Okay, so I sent them everything I could possibly think of to update my file (including a copy of a 30pg research thesis paper, for the hell of it) and finally, FINALLY, I got a call yesterday in regards to me being accepted! I guess persistence, hard work, and patience really does pay off! Looking forward to meeting the class of 2009! 😀

I'm sending my withdrawal letter this week, so whoever is next on that alternate list is in..

peace

i lived off of top ramen noodles for a significant part of my undergrad years...i moved on to the authentic korean and japaneese noodle bowls that had cool flavors like eel and kimchee to change things up...but i think we all got a little noodle in us..noodle on!
