Hi,

Anyone do their curriculum vitae for CCOM? I'm not sure how to do it and if you did, could you send me yours so I would have a resume to base mine off of?

All I did was basically use a template on microsoft word for a professional resume, and add in my job experience first, then my education and degree info, then my college extracirriculars, awards, etc. I also added my volunteer work and the doctors I shadowed. At the end I put in some personal info, like hobbies I have. I believe at the interview they asked me about some of my hobbies, so they don't frown against it. Anyways, they let me in, so I guess that's one option you can do.

I have a better addition to this, go to yahoo, type microsoft templates, then get on the webpage for microsoft word templates and type "Curriculum Vitae" on the search line. You will get like 3 free downloadable templates for it. They are awesome.

I did my CV for AZCOM. Is it the same as the CCOM since they are sister schools? I'll send you mine if you want it. Just send me a PM and I'll forward it to you.

look online for basic ones. I found some when i did mine. There should be some medical ones availible. Just google CV and search for a bit. Plenty of sites have examples.

It is, it just has more educational stuff on it then a resume would. But you can set up your CV as a resume and that would be fine, just make sure to add all the relevent information.

What I meant by my comment was that a CV can be set up like a resume can, just with the relevent information you need in a CV. No its not a resume but it can be set up in the same manner. Sorry for any misconceptions.

In America, CV is used primarily to give more detail of your academic background and professional work history. It is often more comprehensive and longer. Resume summarizes only things you have done that are relevant to the position you are applying for.

In other countries CV/Resume are used interchangably.


p.s. Curriculum Vitae is latin for "the course of life"

"Education
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology
Expected Graduation: May 2007 "

But I also took a summer class at the University of Memphis. I was wondering what i should write underneath 'University of Memphis.'

Any input would be greatly appeciated.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I wouldnt include a summer course in a CV. Since you will be getting your degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign I would just list that like you have above.

I think you should list all of your professional jobs... Even the ones from 1958.

I'm no authority, but I would think that your work experience would add to your application. It may be good to point of discussion during your interview. Include them.

List them! They want to know who you are, right?

How detailed should they be? I finished a rough draft of mine today and I just have a few bullet points under each entry (some only have one). Should I be writing descriptions of each event, what I learned, or other stuff similar to that? I feel like I am just re-stating stuff all ready in my application and I am therefore trying not to sound redundant by adding all the detailed information they can find in AACOMAS. Is this wrong? Should I be more detailed?
