Hey Guys,

So I called CCOM yesterday inquiring about that status update email everyone seemed to get yesterday and for some reason the fact that a letter was generated on the 13th for me slipped out from the admissions lady. She said I should receive it middle of next week. So, since I've only been complete since Nov. 11th, and there are people who have been complete way before that and haven't received an interview invite yet, I am going to assume its another rejection or at best one of those hold letter or maybe even a christmas card 😉 .

What do you guys think? Has there been anyone who has been complete only since november and received an interview invite?

Why would you assume it is a rejection? I have only been complete since 11-29, but I was still holding out hope that they would send out an interview invite before xmas. It seems like some people hear in 2-3 weeks or maybe a little longer if the application they submit is strong, while others that are on the bubble wait months. Maybe you happen to be a good applicant.

I was complete in Mid November and I received an invitation by snail mail on Dec. 14th. The interview invite letter was dated on December 7th.

Are you an illinois resident?

Guys, this whole process is a crapshoot.

I was complete 3.5 weeks prior to an invite at CCOM. Conversely, I've been complete 9 weeks at PCOM and haven't received anything but the admissions office assures me that I still have a good chance of getting an interview at some point. If you didn't receive anything immediately, they may have reviewed you and set you aside for further review. I would also check your MWU Now thing at midwestern.edu to make sure everything is submitted and your app is complete.

Just be patient... CCOM mostly invites those who they have a strong interest in accepting (high rate of acceptance post-interview). Just be patient and try to stop thinking about it. I know that's what i'm struggling to do...

How do you know they have a high rate of acceptance post interview? Are there numbers for this sort of thing at other schools too?

A good book to refer to for these statistics is the US NEWS Ultimate Guide to Medical School. It provides the breakdown of applications, interviews, acceptances, and class size.

For the Fall 2005 Application at CCOM:
1,645 applied
519 interviewed
382 accepted
174 enrolled

Oh wow, 3 out of 4 is pretty high!!!! Do most schools have that kind of acceptance ratio after interviews?

it differs from school to school. Schools like Western COMP also has high acceptance rates post-interview.

I was also in that same boat on the 13th, and then I got another update email for the 15th (received on the 16th...) but nothing shows on Interact. I've only been complete two weeks. Could this possibly be an interview? Somehow, I feel I will get one. I do have strong ties to the area. Most of my extended family lives there (grandma, aunts, uncles, mom - when she's not at her house in Fl.) plus I grew up nearby (in Elmhurst) as a kiddo.

I guess its all speculation at this point, but somewhat fun anyway!!

Somehow I find it hard to believe that in 2004 they had 2900 applicants and in 2005 they had 1645... something's fishy.

maybe 2004 included all primaries and 2005 they switched to just complete apps? btw, i think I am going to decline the CCOM interview..

Total # applicants: 3201
Class size: (Annual class size goal) 173 (160)
In-state students: 40%
Out-state students: 60%
Males: 45%
Females: 55%
Avg. age: 24
Age range: 19-42

That's what's published on their site. I ASSUME that's from last year's class. As you can see, CCOM has over 3k applicants (a far cry from less than 1700) The 1700 must have been those who were COMPLETE.
