Does anyone know if this program has their own hospital? I'm confused about the clinical years. If the medical school doesn't have their own university hospital then where do the students rotate at?

Students rotate at anyone of the 17(?) hospitals affiliated with the school. You should be able to look up MWU's residency programs and you'll get an idea of the hospitals that it works with. FWIW, I don't know any DO schools that have their "own" hospital. Tends to be expensive.

As far as I know Oklahoma State and LECOM-Erie are the only DO schools that have their own hospitals.

Many MD schools also don't have their own hospital, one that comes to mind is Harvard Medical School. So don't let this nugatory detail deter you.

Students from CCOM rotate at affiliate hospitals. Best of any DO school in my biased opinion.👍

Ok thanks. I wasn't sure where to go to ask that question. Sorry if it sounded dumb, but I'm a PA resident and the med schools I could think of had their own hospital. Such as PSU, Jefferson, which are MD programs.

So you think the rotations are just as good. IDK why I had in my head I would receive less of education if they didn't have their hospital!

BTW I talked to a CRNA during my internship last week and she said LECOM's Millcreek was awful place and hardly did any surgeries.

Anyone know anything about that?

Erie has a hospital???

KCOM doesn't have a "hospital" (according to the school), but their school does happen to connect and share a campus with Northeast Regional Medical Center (wink, wink).

Their website says they do 1800 surgeries/year, not sure how that compares, but seems kind of low. Don't know why Millcreek would be considered awful. I would talk to some Doc's rather than a CRNA, if your concerned about this. But, this thread was concerned with CCOM, and all of it's affiliates will give you more than adequate exposure.
