Hello,

I was just trying to get some input from others on my chances of getting into any osteopathic schools, but specifically these schools. I have a 3.4 gpa in a very hard major at a top research university, I scored a 511 on my MCAT after one try and I also am URM.

I would really appreciate anyones input on my chances and if there are any other schools I should apply to.

Good Luck everyone!

Thanks!

You probably have a decent shot at all three. CCOM's tuition is over 60k and MSU is like 80k if you're OOS FYI.

Thanks, is my gpa around average or too low?

I think it's a little on the lower side but you have a good MCAT score. As long as you have good ECs you should be fine. Good luck!

apply to Ok State.

Good school, great opportunities as far as DO schools are concerned (Research, teaching hospital, own GME, just partnered with a bigger hospital network in Tulsa so GME should expand). They really like URM's, and your MCAT is inline with the rest of the OOS people accepted.
GPA is slightly low, but URM should more than account for that.

You're fine for any DO school, including mine

What community do you represent? And please don't say "Detroit"

Oh, and MCAT is b0ss, apply to some state MD too. You are decently competitive at all three. I'd even say you'd get an II for all of them if you play your secondary cards right.

I did get a secondary for all
Of them

Mine is somewhere west of the Missouri River. I could tell you, but then I'd have to reject you.😉

Not all Latinos are URM, but DO schools will still glom onto you with those stats. If your GPAs are similar via AMCAS calculations, a few MD schools might throw you some love.

What DO school is yours? I am Latino

What do you mean if my
GPAs are similar via AMCAS calculations?

AACOMAS does grade replacement. AMCAS does not, they average grades.

Edit: for people who haven't retaken classes the GPAs should be fairly similar

Definitely apply to your state MD schools. You should have a fighting chance for medical college of Wisconsin

Try your state MD School for sure and some of the other low-tier schools like Albany Drexel Temple and Jefferson
Hey Goro I finished all my secondaries do you think it's way too late if I add Jefferson and Drexel? I've pre written those essays I'm pretty sure.
