These were my top 2 choices as well. However, DMU just had that extra something. Go DMU! Good luck.

Overall, which do you think has a more rigorous curriculum? It seems like CCOM has a monster curriclum with the the testing patterns compared to DMU. Ill be applying to both as well and am interested in what other people think of both schools.

So keep talkin people :)

I dont know about DMU but our schedule at CCOM is insane. By the end of this first year, we will have taken 63 exams. That does not include one quiz per week in the third quarter and two quizzes per week in the first two quarters.

I liked CCOM better because all of the rotations were in chicago. I didnt want to have to move to a different state. Its a bigger school with more research opportunity as well.

Just a side note, how much was the deposit for CCOM and when did you have to have it turned in by? I heard it is 1000...but not sure of the time frame, is it one month after acceptance?

The total was $1000....$250 due about a month after you receive your acceptance, and $750 due about a month after that.

The nice thing is that once you pay the full $1000 you can get it back if you decide not to go.

To the OP, you do not have to move around if you do not want to at DMU for rotations. From what I have gathered, CCOM seems to have about the hardest test schedule, with tests on Monday at 7, I think. Go to DMU, and yes I'm biased!

Thanks for the replies everyone :) I'll be shadowing an Osteopathic Physician later this month and have him write my letter and send it to Interfolio. The joys of the application process

In terms of the exams at CCOM, how long are they...the ones that you have weekly? I would like to hear more about them. I actually think weekly exams are beneficial for me in terms of staying on task.

7:30 to 8:50. We rarely have one exam per week. The likely scenario is 2-3 exams per week with at least one quiz per week, if not two.

These arent really blow off quizzes either. If I remember correctly, our biochem quizzes were worth 1/4 the grade; same with OMM quizzes.

Its not that bad. Our summer is 3.5 months long. It makes it worth it.
