so i'm taking anatomy right now at a CC for the first time. when i was looking at the grading scale, there's no +/- grades(ie 70% is still a C, 79% is also a C). i asked a couple ppl in class and they confirmed it that all cc's have no +/- grades. i was surprised...but is this true??

so when dental schools say u can't get a C- and u're taking it at a cc, a C- doesn't really exist right?

Correct, many CC's don't do +/- , which I consider to be very helpful, especially since most CC's don't have a curve (a 90% is still as much of an A as an 98%, but many CC science classes are more difficult to get that A because they're not curved). You're right, as long as you get a 70% (or whatever the cutoff for a C is) you'll get credit.

What CC are you going to? IVC, Cypress? I went to Cypress before I transferred to UCI and loved it there.

Depends on the school. You are correct though, If there are no +/- grades, then a C- is a C is a 2.0.

hey vic...yea it is helpful especially since anatomy is really hard. that's cool tho...i think it benefits ppl that are already accepted. i'm taking it at golden west. i tried taking it at cerritos/cypress but they were full.

congrats with pitts...i had an interview there but decided not to go. i should have tho...

The no +/- CC thing is awesome! It got me my 3.97 GPA(one B in 3 years w/ summers) to transfer to Cal with a full academic scholarship. I was getting 90.5% - 91.5% in every class!! LOL.

Then Berkeley opened up a huge can of, "Kick my a**". I squeaked into my #1 so I guess all is good!
