hey all,

i have the exam in 3 weeks. many in my class have done usmleworld for questions. did anyone purchase the CCS section of usmleworld? I looked at the sample they have online and it seems pretty useless ( it's just cases that you read). First Aid has like 90 cases and was going to read that.

what do you guys think about usmleworld ccs cases and usmleworld in general. (i've search this thread already and have not gotten the answer im looking for!)

thanks!!

I did UW for the MCQs and found them to be better than other sources. But for CCS, Usmleworld is pretty useless. There are blatant mistakes and no proofreading with lots of spelling errors. I liked the CCS cases in First Aid better even though they aren't perfect. For something interactive, USMLESTEPS123.com is the only site that actually seems worthwhile, even though the software is a little different. By the way, you can easily find the usmleworld ccs cases online if you know where to look, so you don't have to buy them.

I liked the UW mcq's but found the ccs portion useless. I much preferred the usmlesteps123 ccs cases.

I was recently told about Blueprints CCS case book. I haven't seen it yet myself. It seems pretty new.

I did/read the CCS cases from usmleworld and thought they were good. It gives the impression that they were written by lots of different people who sat down right after their exams and wrote everything they could remember about the cases. There is a lot of misspelling and bad grammar that sounds like foreign people were doing the writing for many of the cases. I didn't think this really detracted from the usefullness of the cases at all. I thought they gave a good indication of how the cases flow during the actual exam, and the material covered was relevant. It's obviously important to do the practice cases from the usmle cd, but i thought the usmleworld cases were helpful too.
