Hi thank you for making this thread. I had to make an account on here because the CDC PHAP thread 2026 on Reddit was shut down due to way too many irrelevant comments from the same redditers who would not stop using expletives, posting unnecessary spam-like comments and commenting every day on having to wait instead of being patient and waiting to get an email/phone call from CDC. The people I am addressing know who they are, they are the reason you can no longer comment on the Reddit thread. It was selfish and annoying.


The reddit thread was now closed. I feel for anyone who wanted to discuss the app process and waiting for info on whether they matched or not.

  • I applied in April during the application period.
  • I was sent an email in May to send in my Personal Statement.
  • I was scheduled for an interview the first week of June which lasted between 10 to 15 minutes
  • I am only waiting to see if I am matched or not. I have my B.S and M.A degree. I would love the opportunity to work for the CDC. I have worked in health before and loved it.
  • I have no preference for subject area. I did have location preferences and hope I am able to stay in the city I currently work in if matched.

I hope others will comment in this thread after making an account. I was frustrated seeing all of the spam from people on reddit who were not helping at all. It was unnecessary and had they stopped, the thread would've continued without it being locked. I think it should've finished here as well. Hoping other applicants can add in WITHOUT SPAMMING. I would love to speak with you all as we discuss out subject areas and location preferences.

Ah I see I was wondering why it was locked.. not as familiar with reddit to be honest.. I believe a veteran had received their offer yesterday. I l am assuming perhaps next week we will hear something? I also had preferences hoping to stay close to home.. looking forward to discussing with everyone!

Veterans are given priority, they are competitive applicants. After that, then non-veterans hear back.

Ah true! So someone on the new reddit group mentioned this comment

Basically, it seems like fellow employees at the CDC are not sure when PHAP offers are being sent.

Starting dates are projected to be in November. This is an "out of character" year for PHAP offers/recruitment. Any thoughts?

I dont think it's out of character. Dated are tentative so things will change.
 
Is this the rejection to on email? My status on USA jobs still says reviewing applications
