At Case, you need a full state license which would not be possible without passing the regional exam (CDCA, WREB, etc). I’m not sure if that’s typical for other programs.
usually you can take the CDCA again relatively quickly after failing. I had many friends who failed but were able to take it again prior to starting residency.
