Hello - first off, thanks to all who contribute to this DAT forum, I have learned a lot.

I want to start studying the Math and PAT now to get the topics/strategies/techniques ingrained into my head. I have read the forums extensively, and checked on the Crack DAT website, but I have not found the answer to this question:

Does CDP/M only serve as a resource for practice problems, or does it go over strategies and techniques for PAT sections, and subject material for QR (for example, topics in trig)? If not, should my strategy be to use the Kaplan BB as resource for techniques and subject matter, and then once I have studied up on these, move on to drill the practice problems offered by Crack DAT?

Thank you for your help. I look forward to updating everyone as I progress.

I have both programs...
With the PAT one it doesn't give strategies, but it does animations...like the hole punching it'll have an animated explanation...or for the TFE it'll have a rendering where you can see all the possible sides...I really really like this program a whole lot!

As far as the math program, there are videos that explain the problem and how to solve it...you need to be connected to the internet for the vids though.

So they are, in my opinion, better for practice and not really for learning the subject matter...

Not at all, that's the best way to learn. When you get questions wrong they show you what you did wrong. And one of the best parts of this software is that there is a pretty big bank of questions that you can generate a random test every time, so that way you can study novel tests each time. When I started out I was really bad, but after about 2 months of doing 6-7 tests per week (I tried to do 1 each day), I was scoring solid 22-24s.

I got 21 on the real PAT (finished with 7 min to spare), the CDP questions were harder, but the pressure and stress of the real DAT makes it harder, but 21 is a great score. This is why CDP is good, it makes you go faster, practices with harder questions and has a timer so you can pace yourself. Doing 1 test/day for 1.5-2 months is sufficient. If you have time do more. With the PAT it's really all about practise practise practise.

Congrats. Hope to get similar results!
